State Parks

In 2025, the UC Berkeley Library’s DH Team started a collaboration with the California State Parks. Starting the collaboration the Sonoma State Park team representatives, the UC Berkeley DH team began working with a small collection of historical ephemera to develop small projects exploring communities and culture in the late 19th-century. Sonoma State Historic Park

The area now called Sonoma County is the historic land of communities including the Coast Miwok tribe. These groups, despite horrific treatment from European and then US colonizers, have maintained vibrant communities, including around Petaluma (includes Petaluma city).
