Week 11 Announcements

LAB

  • This week is the buffer week of Lab Module C.

  • Please anticipate a change to the lab schedule as we transition into the final projects. More details coming soon.

DISCUSSION

  • This is the final week of discussion!

  • This week’s Bridge section will also be the last! Noah will cover both dynamics and controls this week. Please be sure to take advantage of this time!

HOMEWORK

  • HW 9 is due Wed 11/13

  • It’s the last homework! Final stretch! You got this!

MIDTERM

  • The midterm is in class on 11/21

  • Anticipate another Ed announcement tomorrow with logistic details and the practice exam.

  • The review session for the practice will be on 11/18 7-9pm in Soda 306 (HP Auditorium)

FINAL PROJECT

  • Anticipate another Ed announcement soon with some FAQs and additional details.

  • Your first check-in is due 11/16.

GENERAL

  • Anticipate two logistical announcements coming out this week: one for final projects and one for the midterm.

Remember to take a deep breath and take care of yourself. You can’t pour from an empty glass! Also be sure to stay safe as you get home. With Daylight Savings, it gets dark earlier, so be sure to walk with a buddy or make use of the night safety services Berkeley offers.

Week 10 Announcements

LAB

  • This week is the second week of Lab Module C!

  • We will have a buffer week for this Module and the due date for your labs will still be the week after buffer week. However, we highly encourage you to try to finish labs as fast as you can so you can start working on your final project!

HOMEWORK

  • HW 8 is due Wed 11/6 11:59pm

    • Please note the extended due date! We are doing this so you have time to go out to the polls and vote!

  • HW 9 will be released 11/6 and will be due 11/12 at 11:59pm

  • This is the final homework for the course

  • HW Party will be on Friday 5-7pm back in Cory 540AB this week

FINAL PROJECT

  • Your first check-in is due 11/16.

GENERAL

  • Make sure to get your flu shot! Tang is offering clinics. While you’re at it, considering getting the most recent COVID vaccine.

  • Be sure to vote this election cycle if you’re eligible!

  • Midterm II is approaching! Consider getting started on brushing up.

Fall is upon us! Stay warm and stay dry, and remember to take care of you. A mug of hot chocolate or hot tea is an excellent pick me up in these trying times. And if you have a furry friend, they can be excellent company in this final push of the semester. (Luna, Cleo, and Bo may occasionally be found on campus for furry friend company)

Week 9 Announcements

LAB

  • This week we start Lab Module C! The documents are on bCourses and linked on the course website.

  • If you plan on attending a different section, please remember to email the TA of that section ahead of time!

  • The lab autograder has been run! Please check Gradescope to make sure you’ve gotten credit for all the labs you’ve completed!

HOMEWORK

  • HW 7 is due Tue 10/29 11:59pm

  • HW 7 will be released 10/30 and will be due 11/05 at 11:59pm

  • HW Party will be on Friday 5-7pm in Soda 380 this week (a departure from our regular rooms)

FINAL PROJECT

  • You should have met with a TA regarding your project last week and gotten feedback about your proposal. We encourage you to get an early start on your projects to avoid major crunch time after midterm 2.

  • Your first check-in is due 11/16.

GENERAL

  • Halloween is this week! Remember to stay safe and warm.

  • A friendly reminder that Election Day is coming up. If you are able, we encourage you to vote! If you require any accommodations to complete your civic duty, please let us know ASAP.

  • Thank you for all of your feedback from the post-midterm survey. We’ll be releasing a document soon with some of the big pieces of feedback we can act on.

Week 2 Announcements

Hope you all had a great weekend to recharge as we enter our first 5-day week of the semester! Here’s what we have to look forward to this week.

LECTURE

  • Recordings of all lectures are available on bCourses, and can be accessed through the course website as well. Feedback is greatly appreciated!

  • Course notes can be found on bCourses even if they are not linked on the course website before lecture starts

LAB

  • Lab 1 is due at the start of your lab section this week

  • Lab 2 will be released tomorrow. Please remember to come to lab on time to attend the mini-lecture!

BRIDGE

  • Bridge 1 slides are posted on the course website

HOMEWORK

  • HW 1 is due 9/10 at 11:59pm

    • If you submitted your HW 1 code prior to this announcement, please double check your submission and check that it matches what you expect

  • HW 2 will be released 9/11 and will be due 9/17

  • HW 0 solutions have been released, and grades will be released soon. You will be given the opportunity to submit regrade requests.

  • HW Party is Fri 5-7pm in Cory 521 this week

  • Please read #66 for important notes regarding homework submissions.

Week 1 Announcements

Happy first full week of classes, y’all! It’s going to be a good one :) Here are a few things to keep an eye out for:

LAB

  • If you haven’t done so already, please sign up for a lab section (#15). If you are not enrolled in a lab section and attempt to attend it, you will be turned away.

  • If you recently got off the waitlist and are unable to sign up for the section, please email Stella at seo.jysk@

  • Lab 1 will be released on the course website. It is an introduction to ROS, or Robot Operating System!

    • Labs start with a mini-lecture that goes over the announcements for the week, as well as some context for the lab. Waitlisted students will be able to view the slides on the course website.

    • If unable to get checked off in class, please come to office hours.

  • If you are a waitlisted student, you are expected to complete the lab during Office Hours.

  • Students enrolled in a Monday section can come to any lab section or office hours. We ask that you email the TA of the section you plan to attend so they can let you know if they expect overcrowding in their section.

  • Failure to complete Lab 1 by the deadline (before your next lab section) will result in being dropped from the course.

LECTURE

  • Lecture resumes on Tuesday in Dwinelle 145

DISCUSSION/BRIDGE

  • Discussion section times have changed since our first lecture. They are now offered at the following times:

    • Thursday 5-6pm (Cory 293)

    • Friday 12-1pm (Etcheverry 1165)

    • Friday 3-4pm (Cory 293)

    • Friday 4-5pm (Cory 293)

  • Bridge section starts this week and will be held in Soda 405.

  • Discussion recordings will be made available on the course website

Week 0 - Welcome to EECS C106A/206A!

We’re extremely excited to have you as we journey through kinematics, dynamics, vision, and controls. Along the way, you’ll learn how to use real robots to make the theory come to life.
